The food at Bento is fantastic! The sushi is by far the best in town. ***edited*** provides a more exotic variety ( for the first timers) but its pretty pricey. Bento is reasonably priced and tastes great. As for everything else....... The service is terrible. The atmosphere is nonexistent. I say the best way to enjoy Bento is takeout (hence the long takeout lines at night).
one caveat, there are a couple of waiters at Bento that are great so i don't want to paint them all with the same brush, but its pretty much a crap shoot if you are going to get one of them.

The food is good, if slightly overpriced. My experience with this place has been that it's very slow.

The best sushi in town, sans atmosphere. Dated:Tuesday January 17th 2006 at 10:39:16 AM |

Unfortunately, Tuscaloosa hasn't caught on to sushi yet. There are scarcely three places in town where you can get it. Bento's sushi is by far the best in town. The restaurant staff is polite - I thought it was particularly nice when the sushi chef greeted my table and asked us if we were enjoying our meal. However, the restaurant itself consists of tables and chairs. There is simply no atmosphere.
This isn't a huge problem for me personally. I like the food and usually can be seated and served in a reasonable amount of time. If you're looking for great sushi, I highly recommend Bento. If you're looking for sushi with a memorable experience, you'll have to drive to Birmingham.
