My husband loves a buffet so most of the meals we eat while traveling are at this type of restaurant. We visited Barnhill's on a Saturday morning about 9:00 am.
Breakfast items were not replenished and containers were left empty for the 45 minutes to hour we were there. One harried server was trying to serve beverages
to the entire restaurant. I had been waiting 15 minutes for my juice and my husband asked for it the server said " We ain't got none" and did not offer another beverage. However, my biggest complaint was the ladies restroom. All three toilets were stopped up and overflowing on the floor. Very Nasty ! Despite signs being on the restroom doors to notify them if restrooms needed attention, the
greeting I received from the staff at the front was " You want something ?"
This experience turned me off to this chain as a whole.

I love this kind of restaurant! All-You-Can-Eat of more foods than you could possibly eat at one sitting. And everything is delicious, real down-home cookin’. I especially enjoyed the okra, and the tilapia, not to mention creamy mashed potatoes with white gravy. Stop me! I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it!
I really can’t think of anything bad to say, except perhaps that Ryan’s, which is similar, has a somewhat nicer atmosphere. But I think the food is equally good at both places.
The iced tea was tasty, and the waitress was attentive in keeping my glass full. The dessert bar is fabulous, including some of my favorites, bread pudding and cherry cobbler. Ice cream is available, with a variety of toppings.
It seems there is a different special for each night of the week, and the prices vary accordingly. We went on a Tuesday with a coupon so that two buffets and two drinks cost us less than $15. Can’t do better than that!
