Los Tarascos doesn’t look like much from the outside (except for a bright neon sign) but inside we found good food at reasonable prices. If you are familiar with La Bamba’s in South Florida, Los Tarascos was very similar.
The decor was predictably Mexican, and there were several televisions available for viewing. On a Friday evening, there was no waiting.
The thing that most impressed me about this restaurant, however, was the service. We were brought the customary chips and salsa, and when our supply began to run low, a fresh batch was offered. Our waiter all but hovered over us, and was ready with iced tea refills almost as soon as I needed them. And the iced tea was good!
If you have a yen for Mexican and don’t want to spend too much money, I would recommend a visit to Los Tarascos. And apparently there are other locations within the Tuscaloosa area though at this time I cannot vouch for their quality.

Beyond the occasional language barrier . . . Dated:Friday October 21st 2005 at 02:38:48 PM |

If you can get beyond the occasional language barrier (or perceived barrier, that is), then the Northport location of this restaurant is probably the best (and marginally authentic) Mexican restaurant in town. The wait staff has proven reliably prompt and consistent. While this is beyond the restaurant's control (given their shared location), parking can be tight.
